Radiology Errors
Radiologist are essential in the proper diagnosis of many diseases of the human body. We utilize them to properly interpret diagnostic tests such as MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, mammograms, PET scans, and V/Q scans. These vital test are used to detect tumors, cancers, fractures, tears, blood clots, fetal defects and other abnormalities.
The information provided by these skilled technicians is vital to the informed decision making of both patients and doctors when choosing the best course of treatment. But when radiologists misinterpret/misread the tests or technicians improperly conduct the tests, the results can be devastating. Unnecessary or even harmful treatment may be undertaken. A delayed or missed diagnosis may occur. In either event, patients may suffer very serious or even deadly consequences.
